Introduction

Videoconferencing is an interactive connection between two or more sites that transmit video, audio and graphics. Videoconferencing is used for distance education and for faculty/staff meetings at George Mason University. Unlike streaming or broadcast television, both sides of conference can see and hear each other in real-time.

Calling from a Multimedia Classroom/Conference room

There are ten classrooms/conference rooms equipped with videoconferencing units (called Tandberg) in Finley, Aquia and Kellar Annex. Please first check the availability of the site you want to use on Virtual Collaboration Center, and then contact Ala Showers (ext. 36088) to make reservations.

Once you reserve the site, please follow the instruction below to start a video conference.
