Lesotho was formerly known as "Basutoland" under the rule of the British Colony and the Cape Colony Administrations before its independence in 1966.

Since then, the Kingdom of Lesotho has been led by chiefs and prime ministers while restructuring its government and politics to become a bicameral Parliamentary government featuring multiple political parties.

Communication and transportation facilities in Lesotho have evolved to encompass mobile phone, landline, and Internet connections, as well as expanded roadways and runways for airports.

  2. Lesotho is also plagued with human trafficking. The government has attempted to eliminate trafficking in the recent past, but to no avail.
However, ICTs and their implementation in Basotho universities can perhaps strengthen the government's efforts to eradicate human trafficking permanently.
