COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES
SERVICES TO GO AROUND (LITERALLY)!
Back in 1996, the leaders of the South African Development Community (SADC) states met in Lesotho to discuss regional and global communication as a precursor to instilling economic growth, development, and improvement of the quality of life.
As a result, modern-day Basotho have access to many forms of communication and transportation. A majority of privatized broadcast media is controlled by the government, but the Lesotho chapter of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) continues to press for the freedom of media.
Current projects are being planned by the Lesotho government and the World Bank to improve transportation capabilities, including the Integrated Transport Project, which will improve market access for Basotho through complete, safe, and affordable transportation.
