Development Projects in Progress

Actions by the government of
Lesotho

The Kingdom of Lesotho has implemented several programs to counteract human trafficking.
An Anti-Trafficking Act has been conceived since 2011, which would provide formal referral procedures and establish victim care centers, but since then it has been largely unimplemented.
In 2013, federal prosecutors have indicted offenders involved in trafficking, but their focus has been limited to specific criminals and not the overall.

The
Watch
List

The Lesotho government strives to meet the minimum standards of the Tier II Watch List.
These standards include a significant absolute victim count, a failure to provide evidence of improvement, or exhibited national commitment to taking further steps in solving the issue at hand.
