Explorer Post 1192

G.S. Troop 2993

History -- 1992-93

Canoe Trip: On October 3rd, 1993, we took a one-day canoe trip down the Shenandoah River.

Dolls: In November, we made cloth dolls. A basic outline was made out of cloth, and then we embroidered the faces. They were then filled with stuffing and had yarn added for hair. Each one was unique -- just like us.

Canoe Skills: In the April of 1993, we practiced canoe skills on Lake Barcroft.

Maryland Science Museum: We attended the Maryland Science Museum in Baltimore for a Girl Scout Sleep-in. There we did scientific experiments dealing with temperature and pH, and were also able to wander around the museum.

Warrenton: In May of 1993, we went to a cabin in Warrenton. There we did various activities, including making pin-hole cameras and using light-reactive paper to do prints of leaves and other local fauna.

Bridging to Cadettes: We became Cadette Girl Scouts in the June of 1993. The ceremony was held at Zachary Taylor Park in Arlington.

Bike Trip on the C&O Canal: Along with troop 602, in the summer of 1993 we went biking on the canal, with a picnic lunch half-way through the trip.
