Week One: Jan 27: Introduction

Though in the past this course has begun with Mina Loy, the bookstore tells me we won't have the Loy book in time. So we will start with Moore. This requires us to plunge rather suddenly into dense thickets of verbal and visual perception. Bring your machete and your magnifying glass and you'll be fine.

Weeks 2-5: Marianne Moore

Week Two: Feb 3: Verbal, Visual, Valorous: An Introduction to Everything

Week Three: Feb 10: Assemblage & Collage

Week Four: Feb 17: Gender & Authority
Turn in a draft of either your paper or your anthology introduction

Week Five: Feb 24: The Clear Idea: Later Poems
