week 7: Songs to Johannes This week we will start with Loy’s critique of romance and the lyric, as sketched by DuPlessis. We’ll then move to a detailed discussion of “Songs to Johannes” (a.k.a. “Love Songs”). I’ve asked you all to read the essay by DuPlessis. You then must choose one of two essays on “Songs to Johannes,” both in MLWP at the JC Reserve Desk.
