Looking at the attached Excel document, Chart 1 of quiz grades shows more than average effectiveness at students demonstrating knowledge of the new photo composition vocabulary. Only one student failed the quiz with the overwhelming majority scoring in the 90-100 category. The student that failed has also experienced high absenteeism and has had a truant officer sent to his house.

       In regard to the project grades, where students were experientially displaying their knowledge of the photo composition terms, the grades were again overwhelmingly in the 90-100 category. The three students who scored below 60 failed to complete half of the project by not submitting sentences to explain their compositions. As this is part of the knowledge they are supposed to gain, the projects will be handed back and students will complete the full assignment. When the assignments are re-submitted, it is fully anticipated that they would be scored passing or higher.

        There are missing grades due to extended absences or students whose project is still not turned in. The Excel document simply skipped these values and did not include them in the average or chart. The assignments will eventually be turned in and so should not be counted as zeros.
