Student Work Samples
As I walked among the groups, I overheard and helped to
facilitate conversations that not only clarified the meaning of
terms and where to put them on the storyboard, but also
conversations that probed deeper. Many groups were discussing
the pros and cons of one type of shot over another, the mood of
the music they wanted to present, and/or the image they wanted
the graphic to present. While these decisions are limited given
that all groups are presenting a short news segment, it is
important that students begin to give these decisions
consideration for later projects. In the spring, when students
revisit these skills to create a short movie, they will need to
discuss the mood they want to present and which camera angle,
shot, movement, music, dialogue and sound effects will best
reach that objective. |
