Onboard Doctor
Astronauts in space well be having a new companion along with them in the future in the form Robo Doc;
NASA¡¦s vision for astronaut health care(1). Robo Doc will be an onboard integrated set of devices that allow
astronauts to monitor their health on the Intentional Space Station.
The onboard doctor will be linked back to computers here on Earth, where our doctors on the
ground will analyze the results from Robo Doc. While this system might not change the way you visit your
doctor anytime soon, the applications of this technology can be applied to our cars.
Cars currently have on board GPS devices that allow you to find directions or allow you to
communicate with a mechanic for quick on the road service. This service can be boosted with an
onboard doctor. It would prove most useful for accident situations or for our elder drivers.
The onboard doctor can monitor their vital signs, give tips on what to do if one had a stroke or is in an accident.
And most importantly, it can alert authorities of an emergency immediately.
