Throughout history, the process of communication has evolved as new ideas and technological developments arose. In the past, common forms of communication were by means of written letters, e-mails, telephone calls, and face-to-face conversations. Even though, those ways of communication still exist and are regularly used today, more frequently, a recent method of communication exercised by society comes from social networks. According to an online dictionary, the term social network is defined as “the use of a website to connect with people who share personal or professional interests, place of origin, education at a particular school, etc.” (Social 2010). To name a few, social networks include, but are not limited to, Facebook, MySpace, Tumblr, YouTube, and Twitter. As one of the most populous social network used today, Facebook has reinvented the way the general public stays connected. Certainly, Facebook is a new, effective tool in information technology with its groundbreaking background, apparent benefits to society, and with room for further improvements. This fairly new development goes beyond any other website in its nature by enhancing the daily lives of its users.
Facebook has become so popular, a movie was released featuring the making of Facebook. Here is the movie trailer.
