My Experience With This Course

Although the name of the STAT 362 course is Introduction to Computer Statistical Packages, it covered only one statistical package: SAS: SAS Website

For me, this was both a review of the SAS package since I have been using SAS for a number of years, but also an opportunity to learn more functionality of this powerful statistical tool.

This was an on-line class. The majority of the course content was delivered via lectures recorded by the instructor. The lectures were closely coordinated with the textbook material, and weekly SAS programming tasks were assigned.

Topics covered in the class were:

• SAS basics
• Descriptive statistics
• Frequency tables
• Date data
• SAS data management
• Hypothesis testing and confidence intervals for means
• Correlation
• Simple regression
• Multiple regression
• Analysis of variance
• Analysis of covariance

This class was a good review, and I enjoyed learning some additional functionality of SAS.
