In college, more technology is being used. Applying to colleges is mostly done online now. More assignments are being turned in online and there are constant e-mails going back and forth between professors and students. Signing up for classes and checking for grades is also done online. People who are not familiar with computers will have a harder time adapting to computer use and the many things that are required to be done on computers for the different assignments. Some people feel that technological literacy is overblown and not needed and that people will learn "by using task applications that involve ‘real’ work" (Valdez). Whether you agree with this and like the use of new technology or not, it is becoming more and more mandatory to learn it because it is being used every where.
