In today’s society, the use of technology is all around us. From the self-checkout at the supermarket to paying bills on-line, it has permeated our day to day lives. Now we can “TIVO” our favorite show to watch at a later time or send instant photos to family members across the country. So how does a person with limited knowledge of computers and technology manage in today’s world? Will they be able to obtain a driver’s license or book an airline ticket? Are they handicapped in a technologically advanced world? How does a student complete the research for a school paper if he or she does not have a computer with internet access available at home? How does a college student communicate with his or her professor and submit assignments? Technological literacy is becoming just as important as the basic skills of reading, writing, and math.
