Examples of Why-sites

Apple
Apple is the undisputed king of designing through why. The first click of the page is vastly different from any other storepage. One picture of their most innovative product with a simple title and tagline and minimalist navigation bar. The why for their site is clearly shown from the first page, they want to show off their products. No matter which page you click on their products are largely and crisply displayed. Even their service page with shows their employees helping.

David Choe's Personal Website
David Choe is an incredibly popular artist from Los Angeles. His site was what I based the description of the art student making. His newest and incredibly vibrant work is prominently displayed on the front page. In the top corner there is a navigation bar that doesn’t distract from the artwork.

CraigsList
The webpage is filled with information yet simple to understand because of the formality and simplicity of the design. It may be cluttered, but it sends the message to the user that this site is the central hub for everything in the area.

Above is a ted talk about using why to push forward design given by Simon Sinek.
