Millenium Development Goal # 6

T0 halt and begin to reverse the spread of
HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other major diseases

Welcome to my IT 304 project website. This page was created in response of supporting Millenium Development Goals #6 of United Nation and informing young vietnamese and othe people around the globe of how to use Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to fight agains HIV/AIDs.

Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia, bordering the Gulf of Thailand, Gulf of Tonkin and South China Sea, alongside China, Laos, and Cambodia with the population at 84,402,966 (July 2006 est.). In 2003, the HIV prevalence among the general population adult is below 1%, around 220,000 people living with HIV/AIDS and approximate 9,000 deaths caused by AIDS.[1]

Why do I choose Vietnam for my project? It is because HIV is spreading there faster than in India and China. One in 75 households now has a family member living with HIV. Every day 100 people are newly infected with AIDS in Vietnam according MOH. [2] Look at the picture below. Children were born to be healthy and happy. Unfortunatedly, there are many children like these orphans infected with AIDs. My hope is that young Vietnameses and other youths around the globe will explore this site to learn more about the deadly disease and the strategies to prevent it and SAVE OUR CHILDREN.
