Tips for Donating
Before you donate, we highly recommend that you look over these tips. Although donating seems simple, it is easy to find yourself making incomplete donations, harming your financial situation, or donating to a scam. To help you avoid these problems, we've made a list of "Do's" and "Dont's" that will allow you to make the most of your donation experience.
Do:
- For immediate payments, make sure you have your credit card ready
- Double-check that you are donating to reliable organizations
- If you are making a large donation, make sure you can afford it
- Contact the organization to ensure that your donation is recieved
- Once you're done, tell your friends to donate
Don’t:
- Use invalid or expired credit cards
- Leave the donation page without completing your payment
- Donate without considering your financial situation
- Make donations to websites that ask for unnecessary personal information (such as SSN)
- Give donations to sites if you haven't ensured that they are reliable
