This site was designed by the students in the Immersion Program at George Mason University to support their T/TAC Online project. The T/TAC Online project involves enhancing the School Improvement Section of the T/TAC online web site (http://ttaconline.org) so that more up-to-date information will be available to be searched and viewed by website users.
Project Goals

This project began Fall 2004. This semester our main focus is ensuring that the T/TAC Online Local Improvement Plan Input system we developed is aligned with our project goals and is received favorably by a representative group of users. We will spend the semester evaluating the system and using the feedback we receive from the evaluations to redesign so that the system is fit for implementation.

Main tasks include:

  • Evaluation research
  • Self-evaluation of the
    system
  • Expert reviews
  • Usability testing with
    representative users
  • Redesign prototype
  • Communicate with programmer to
    implement changes made to design

What is T/TAC?

T/TAC, which stands for the Training and Technical Assistance Center, is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education and supports eight regional T/TACs that comprise a statewide system “emphasizing collaboration in the planning and provision of services to meet state and local staff development needs.”

“The mission of Virginia's Training and Technical Assistance Centers (T/TAC) is to improve educational opportunities and contribute to the success of children and youth with disabilities (birth - 22 years). The Centers provide quality training and technical assistance in response to local, regional, and state needs. T/TAC services increase the capacity of schools, school personnel, service providers, and families to meet the needs of children and youth.”
