Electronic Health Records or Electronic Medical Records are an essential aspect to the health care field. It provides easy access to patient information that allows for a better knowledge of the patient’s health status. Electronic health records are a growing technology that is becoming a must in all hospital and patient care settings. The President has ordered for all health care facilities to adopt electronic records by the end of 2014 (Electronic Health Records). Although electronic health records provides all those services, there are unavoidable problems associated with them. For example, it can bring up legal, ethical, security, and social concerns as shown in the following paragraphs. However, electronic health records are innovating to deal with all of those aspects.
