Personally, I like to build a concept page. I open up some blank (or basic) html and css docs and get to work creating my vision. It’s best to keep everything that you can in the css to keep things clean. However, I often find myself resorting to the html for some things when I just get the css to work for me.

Nothing saves me like w3schools. Every time I need to know how to do something this site is there to save me. Fantastic explanations of how different concepts work in both html and css, and the interactive demos make learning the concepts so much easier.
