History of IOOB Conference


The first Industrial Organizational/Organizational Behavior (IOOB) Graduate Student Conference was held in 1980 by The Ohio State University. Milt Hakel, a faculty member from Ohio State, was the originator of the conference. The Conference was sponsored by both the psychology and business department at Ohio State. This influenced the merging of organizational psychology and organizational business into one conference. From this year on, the IOOB Conference has been passed on to different schools to host this annual conference.

The IOOB Graduate Student conference is a national meeting for graduate students who are enrolled in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management programs. The conference primarily consists of student paper presentations and workshops led by keynote speakers who are prominent in the field.
