 1999 IOOB Call for Papers

George Mason University will be hosting the 20th Annual Industrial Organizational/Organizational Behavior (IOOB) Graduate Student Conference on March 19-21, 1999 in Fairfax, Virginia. Graduate students enrolled in programs in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or a related field are invited to submit paper abstracts for review. The theme for the 1999 conference is The Changing World of Work: IOOB for the 21st Century. Papers addressing issues relevant to the theme are especially encouraged. Both empirical and conceptual papers can be presented, as well as works in progress or something you intend to present/publish elsewhere.

Paper presentations will be limited to 12 minutes and an additional three minutes are provided for questions. Sessions will consist of four to five papers grouped by subject area. The guidelines for submitting an abstract are as follows:

  1. Paper abstracts should be no longer than 200-300 words, in APA format, with no more than 5 references cited in text.
  2. Additional guidelines include: 12 point, Times New Roman font; 1 inch margins all the way around; left justification; center title, author(s)/affiliation(s), and the "References" heading; indent each paragraph, single space throughout body of abstract (e.g., no spacing between paragraphs); double space between title and first author/affiliation listing; double space between each author/affiliation listing; double space between end of abstract and "References" heading; double space after "References" and before the listing of the first citation; single space between references; capitalize first letter of each word in the title, with the exception of prepositions and/or conjunctions; do not bold, italicize, or underline the title; list each author followed by their affiliation on the next line; multiple authors from the same affiliation should appear on the same line, separated by commas; type references in APA format for PUBLISHED MATERIAL (e.g., italicize journals and books, use hanging indent for references), do not include any tables or figures. 3. Three copies of the abstract are requested for review along with the submittal form.
  4. In order to assist the Program Committee in grouping your submission into the appropriate session, please choose the three categories that best describe your abstract (see submittal form). If your submission does not fit in a listed category, please write "U" indicating other and fill in the blank line with an appropriate description.
  5. At least one of the authors submitting the abstract must be able to present the paper at the conference.

The deadline for submittal is January 22, 1999. All submissions must be postmarked by this date. Expect notice via e-mail that the abstract has been received within two weeks.

Clearly label the name of author(s) and university affiliation on the disk. This must be postmarked no later than February 19, 1999.
