Focusing Question:
Was the "Open Door Policy" of 1900-1910 beneficial to China?

Thesis:
The "Open Door Policy" of 1900 - 1910 was not beneficial to China because it was a policy enacted against China's will, it was made primarily out of U.S. self-interest, and the policy's ineffectiveness resulted in future wars. 


Introduction  Defying the Will of the Chinese

U.S. Interests Come First, then Worry about
