EDRS 823

Having
been in the field of special education for the last 15 years, single
subject/case research has a special appeal. By nature the students in special
education cannot be considered a representative population. However, to be able
to trust the findings in research, rigor must be applied to any method. Through
this course we explored and identified the important aspects of single
subject/case, such as inter-observer agreement/reliability, validity,
visual
analysis, and statistical
analysis in recent studies. As with EDRS
810, EDSE
841, and EDSE
842 and other research courses, identifying important components that
indicate quality studies, emphasizes the need to make sure that those
components are always included. This will be very helpful as I embark on my dissertation
study in the very near future.
