About 10.1% of Timor-Leste's GDP is used for education. The literacy rate is also not that high. Only 58.6% of the population is literate. Timor-Leste's school life expectancy is only 11 years. The government provides free basic education to the children but most families are not able to provide for basic needs like school uniforms, transportattion and books.

Methods to help with Education Issues:

  1. The way of learning and teaching through E-Learning should be embraced.
  2. Basic knowledge about how a computer and the Internet to look for information and chech and send emails.
  3. Teachers must have good knowledge about the subject they teach.
  4. Education must be especially made aware to women.
  5. Scholarships and funding should awarded to encourage children for academic growth.
