About Us
While you are on this site, you all may ask yourselves, who are the people here at this restaurant, what is the origin, and why do they seem so passionate about serving an authentic meal experience. My name is Phinehas Betremussie, I am of Ethiopian descent raised in the United States by my mother and father who grew up in Ethiopia. One of the standout features of being an Ethiopian is the food that originates from there. I learned growing up how hard people in Ethiopia work to earn the money to have food at home and how tirelessly they work to ensure the food served at home is as healthy as possible and I've always been a big fan of the food as well. So, I decided to honor my Ethiopian heritage by creating a restaurant themed with the main color being blue. Though it is not one of the Ethiopian national colors, I used my favorite color from childhood to create the symbol of a lion as my logo, representing former Emperor Haile Selassie, who had the title of"The Lion of Judah". He was named the Lion of Judah because of his strict rule, yet was a modernized man who sought to improve the conditions of his country and his people. This what was the lion in my logo represents and I hope the message to be conveyed to our customers as they enter.
Inside of the logo, there is a signature that says “PB” .The signature “PB”, was meant to represent not only myself, but also my family, our family name and to show where we come from as well.
