Why are social workers nervous about taking research and evaluation courses? A common misnomer is that successful students have must have an affinity for math. To the contrary, victorious students are those who can apply critical thinking skills, the basic tenets of professional social workers.

My approach to teaching research and evaluation courses is simple; using clear and concise language, providing experiences so you can practice the concepts, encouraging questions – both basic and complex, and giving you the time you need to process and apply the information. Social work research and evaluation courses at George Mason University are stimulating, engaging and believe it or not, relatively painless. Most importantly these courses will give you the tools you need to better understand the degree to which social welfare policies and services improve the quality of life of individuals, groups and families and empower organizations and communities.
