Government

In 1993, constitution of Kyrgyzstan defined itself as democratic republic (Marat, 2011). The executive branch includes president and prime minister. The parliament is currently unicameral, meaning that it consist of a single chamber, as a legislative assembly. The judicial branch includes a Supreme Court, local courts and a Chief Prosecutor. Even with the court system and constitution on hand, Kyrgyzstan is placed among the twenty countries in the world with the highest perceived level of corruption. In addition, all the goods and the exports that country has they still do not help because money is not flowing in the right direction. Recently, in April of 2010 Kyrgyzstan had a revolution in which Kyrgyzstanis overthrew the former president Kurmanbek Bakiyev and it also resulted in the adoption of the new constitution. Later, in November of 2011 presidential elections were held and Roza Otunbayeva became the new president of republic.  This government has decided to take action against few issues such as corruption and organized crimes which took place under other governments, Media is to be freed, as well as the economy so that business can operate freely (Tchoroev, 2002).
