Conclusion

The internet is "a vast collection of hundreds of thousands of computers accessible to millions of people all over the world"(Beebe, 2009, p.148), that can never fully be protected because it would really limit the freedom or modern purposes of the Internet. Due to the inability to truly make the internet 'hacker free,' there are many cases where people have been placed in danger over the Internet. The Patriot Act allows the government to further national security, but citizens have to give up their idea of privacy. The federal government has a lot of groups devoted to securing their Internet, and several laws/acts have been passed to up the requirements for the federal Internet. The Obama Administration wants to make sure the public understands the risk on the Internet. They want everyone to be informed and get protection as an effort to help national security. The Internet affects everyone because it has become a part of everyday routine, so next time you use the Internet be safe. Check the credibility of the sites you visit, only associate with people you know and trust over the Internet and be sure your antivirus protection on your computer is up to date.
