Goals
Lifelong learning Goal
My passion continues to be in the area of health promotion and science, so I hope to be able to use my new skills gained as instructional designer to make materials for patients dealing with chronic disease more engaging and effective.
Career Goal
I begin a new position this spring and expect to gain the skills and strategies to go along with the theoretical framework I have gained over the past two years in school. I hope to bring a learner centered perspective to the projects and aspire to make learning more efficient for the students. My goal is to move into a instructional design position that would exploit elements of my science background. I am hoping to weave science into the effort of developing learning materials and strategies. I envision a position in a science driven organization or perhaps a continuing medical education environment.
Academic Goal
It has been two decades since I took the GRE expecting to enter graduate school. As I finish this Master's program, I think my higher education acedemic career is over--far short of the PhD I thought I would pursue when I was much younger. At this point I will attend seminars to keep my PMP up to date and participate in instructional design communities of practice.
