Lodging [Español]

  1. The Hilton Arlington & Towers
The Hilton is the closest full-service hotel. It is on North Fairfax Drive (the same street as GMU Arlington) approximately 5 city blocks from the George Mason Arlington campus (roughly 1/2 mile). The Hotel is located directly above the entrance to the Ballston Metro station, so it is also possible to take the Metro one stop to the Virginia Square station, located 1 block from George Mason.

A block of guestrooms for the conference has been reserved until January 27, 2007 at special rate of
$149.00 plus tax per night. Reservations may be booked online using group code GMU. You may also contact the reservations department by phone at 703-528-6000 (Local) or 1-800-HILTONS (Toll-Free). Please note that there is a limited number of rooms available, and the special rate is only available through Saturday, January 27, so reserve early!

  2. FDIC Residence Center
Located right next door to George Mason, the FDIC is the lodging closest to the meeting rooms.
While quite comfortable, it is not a typical full-service hotel. For example, the cafeteria is open only M-F and serves only breakfast and lunch. All rooms are efficiencies and are equipped with a mini-kitchenette. More information is available online.

A block of rooms for the conference has been reserved until February 12, 2007 at the rate of $135.00 plus tax per night. Reservations can be made by calling FDIC’s Front desk at 703-516-4630 or 1-877-275-7853. Please note that there is a limited number of rooms available, so reserve early!

  3. Other local hotels
There are several other options close to the George Mason Arlington campus. Some of these are listed online through George Mason's visitor information. There is also a new Westin Hotel slightly farther away than the Hilton, and several small motels.

  4. Washington DC hotels
George Mason is located just 1 block from the Virginia Square station of Metro's orange line, making it easily accessible for participants who prefer to stay in Washington DC. Hotel reservations can be made online at the Washington DC Tourism Site as well as other sites. In addition to hotels, there are also numerous guesthouses and bed-and-breakfast options. Metro information and maps are available online.
