While initially focused on enhancing physical security and intelligence operations, another threat was quietly evolving in the shadows, cyberattacks. (Olenick & Ross) states, "According to experts, over the past two decades, concerns about physical attacks have been displaced by the equally significant crisis of cyber threats." The 9/11 attacks brought attention to weaknesses, in both physical environment and the growing digital landscape, making cybersecurity a top priority in national and international security agendas. In this research, we will delve into the evolution of cybersecurity since the events of 9/11.
