The Alexandria Zoological Park will forever be engrained
into my memoires because of all the fun that I experienced there. I remember
the first time my dad ever took me there for a visit I was around five years
old, and I left crying and screaming
because I was traumatized my the swarm of catfish that came for the food I was
throwing in the water. The following
year I went back and this time I had a lot more fun! I was allowed to spend
time in some of the summer safari courses where I got to handle the newly
arrived (baby) animals at the zoo. They were very informative, and they showed
me all the diversity the world had in it. These trips taught me to value the
animals that I see in my own backyard, and they also taught me that I needed to
be more conservative with things like energy and trash because it affects the
environment more than I thought. This Zoo was different from the National Zoo
in D.C. because it did not just focus on endangered species, but species that
were native to Louisiana as well. Year after year I go back to see how they
animals have grown or see what new species they have added. Click one of the following below to view my learning experience....
