Background

I will focus my look at the myTouch from a young adult perspective a user will enjoy their myTouch for its entertainment capabilities, utilizing the Mp3 player, the video recorder and camera. In addition, their myTouch will serve as the foundation of their social life, while chatting online, talking on the phone, emailing and playing on social network websites. The multitasking capability of their myTouch will allow them to do several of these activities at one time. At which other smartphones do not offer. The young adult in the U.S. is often described as someone between the ages of 18 and 34; however, for the purposes of this report our young adult segment description also includes teens and encompasses most of the Y generation. Moreover the description of the Y generation often varies, but for general understanding the Y generation is often described as those born somewhere between the mid-1970?s and the mid-1990?s. In this report the young adult is anyone between the ages of 15 and 24, which includes high school and college students. This segment is easily identified as those that do not know life without cell phones and spend more time on the internet each month then they do watching television, with 42 percent watching online videos each month. Ninety percent of generation Y owns a computer and 82 percent own a cell phone. (Harris Interactive)
