How to Donate to Ongoing Efforts to Study Social Anxiety and Character Strengths, and Improve the Quality of Individual Lives

Perhaps you know someone who has suffered from intolerable anxiety and would like to help in efforts to reduce human suffering...

Perhaps you would like to help in efforts to understand what makes life satisfying, engaging, and meaningful...including the development of methods to cultivate positive emotions, traits, and communities...

Perhaps you would like to support work on understanding and enhancing the well-being of combat veterans returning to civilian life...

Many of our research projects and interventions depend on financial support from grant agencies, foundations, and generous individual donors. Those who wish to contribute to our psychological research can do so through an outright gift of cash or other property. Potential donors are encouraged to contact Dr. Kashdan to discuss different options. We are incredibly grateful to anyone willing to support our efforts to understand and improve the quality of individual lives.

Gifts of Cash

The simplest way an individual can help our research program is with a cash donation; sometimes a donor makes a pledge which enables a larger gift through payment over a period of time. Donors should make a pledge to the George Mason University Foundation (click here for website with more details). Using the weblink, gifts should be made out to the Psychology Department/Dr. Todd Kashdan.

We welcome all gifts, which go toward fostering an understanding of social anxiety, trauma, positive emotions, and character strengths, and working to both reduce human suffering and cultivate positive experiences and traits.

All donors will be provided with extensive updates about research findings (e.g., copies of articles and presentations, summaries of preliminary data) and how individuals were helped as a function of their generous support.
