Research

During the last several years my research was focused on the cognitive psychology and the consciousness studies in the context of education and inventive design.
In the first area, I have proposed (in cooperation with C. Harrison) a new concept of engineering education (Successful Education), based on the Theory of Successful Intelligence and I have presented it in a book on “Successful Intelligence. How to Educate Creative Engineers”.  The book has already been sold to 12 countries and it will be published in Chinese by China Machine Press this July.  It will be also published in Polish by the Kielce University of Technology this August.

In the area of inventive design, our results were presented in several papers and during an invited conference presentation during a major international conference (Malta, 2009). Also, last May I gave a very well received talk on “Phenomenal Consciousness and Visual Thinking in Inventive Design” at the Milan University of Technology in Italy and my talk attracted faculty and students from three Italian technical universities, including Milan, Florence, and Bergamo.
