  Robot made with legos

What do robots have to do with education?  Through this course, I investigated the question and found amazing answers! Through readings, discussions, writing, interviewing, and reflecting on the games as we tried them, we found a tremendous number of academic skills that can be transmitted to students through this creative and motivating venue!  The culminating report was a letter to the school board convincing them of the educational value of robotics.  We also were given tasks that we had to accomplish in small groups such as getting an egg safely from a table top to the floor without touching it. We built a motorized robot out of Legos and programmed it to go through a maze and dance to music!  It was amazing the amount of logic, design, and thinking skills that were needed for those tasks! What student wouldn’t want to learn given those tasks!
