About Me
I am currently a PhD student at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA in the department of Microbiology and Molecular Biology.
With over 2 years of research and teaching experience and a MS degree in Microbiology,
I am now part of Dr.Ancha Baranova's lab for my PhD thesis.
My projects are related to gene expression studies on human obesity and associated metabolic syndrome and are being carried out in collaboration

My first job was as a lecturer in a graduate school of Biotechnology in India. Since then my love for teaching has given me several opportunities to teach. At George Mason I got an opportunity to work as a teaching
assistant in the MMB Department. Apart from teaching, I have prior research experience which includes 2 years dissertation
project during MS program followed by 2 years of research work as a project
assistant at Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore,
India. I am presently supported by Presidential Scholarship(Graduate Research Assistant) for research during my PhD
My hobbies include cooking, ornithology, entomology, needlework and
watching movies.
