Submission Guidelines

ATTENTION:

We are currently closed to general fiction and poetry submissions to accommodate the influx of contest submissions. We invite you to submit your manuscript to our 2016 Poetry Contest and 2016 Fiction Contest until June 15. Nonfiction submissions will remain open for the remainder of the year. General fiction and poetry submissions will reopen January 1, 2017.

Our goal is to publish a limited number of titles annually to build a catalogue of works that inform and delight. In the rapidly changing landscape of small press publishing, our focus is craft publishing, combining traditional print methods with new technologies and working closely with our authors to develop and promote their work. We aim to produce well-made books with an eye to the aesthetics of design, giving each project we select the careful attention required to make the publishing experience rewarding for writer and publisher alike.

We take time in considering all of our submissions and ask that you allow 3-6 months for a staff response.

All manuscripts should include a query letter, synopsis, and an overview of the work. Authors are also invited to share information about their writing background, online presence, involvement with the writing community, and inspiration for their work.

Only complete manuscripts of literary fiction (either a novel or a short story collection; no genre submissions), narrative non-fiction (a collection of linked essays or memoir), and poetry are accepted.

Our ideal manuscript is between 50,000 and 100,000 words of prose or 50-75 pages of poetry. All attachments should be in either PDF or Word .doc formats.

We do not accept paper submissions.

There is a $5 fee/submission to offset costs associated with our submission manager.
