The R&T Forum at North American Travel Monitoring Exhibition and Conference (NATMEC), August 27-31, 2000, Madison, WI


The NATMEC conference is a venue to examine and share state-of-the-art technology, knowledge, and progress in the field of travel monitoring and data analysis. The comprehensive four-day program includes an exhibition technology demonstrations, presentations and discussions on traffic counting, vehicle classification, weigh-in-motion, congestion monitoring, travel time, freight, and ITS as a data source. The TRB committees on traffic monitoring, transportation data and information technology are participating in the conference program.

This year the conference will make recommendations to the Research & Technology Forum organized by TRB, AASHTO and FHWA to develop a national highway research agenda. At the opening session on Monday, August 28, the Policy Analysis and System Monitoring Working Group chairs will introduce the R&T concept and summarize current activities on Policy Analysis and System Monitoring Working Group. A special meeting to solicit comments on Working Group topics. The conference wrap up session on Thursday morning is being designed to provide a written record of key issues in travel monitoring for the R&T Forum.
