As a
student, I have both further developed my own beliefs as a learner, as
well as changed my views about my students as learners.
The ITS program has pushed me as a learner further than I ever imagined
was possible. I was forced to reassess and re-evaluate how I
deliver content in class. Prior to the ITS program, I just did
what I felt comfortable with from my previous experiences with high
school and undergraduate teachers. I simply did what worked for
me. This approach is not necessarily what may work and prepare my
students. With this program, there are a host of new concepts
that, while uncomfortable to use at first, are a great benefit to my
classroom experience and add value to my students.
When it comes to my students, this program has opened my eyes even more
to my "target market:" who my students are and what their needs
are. It is an addition to my business skills. With my
experiences in the ITS program, I now will tailor and design each
lesson based on students involvement and refinement of the process. |
