Advocacy

My Advocacy team's vision was inspired, in part, by Daniel Pink's conceptual belief on preparing kids for their future.  Here, our group's main effort is to help educators inspire and teach 21st century learners by bridging the business technology experts with the educational curriculums of teachers.  We also created the acronym to summerize the concept: TEALS--Technology Education And Leadership Site.

This site is designed as a resource for teachers to become more proficient and integrating technology components in their courses.  It is also a place for educators to integrate the business and technology communities in their classrooms, thus integrating "Learning and Living"  and "Living and Learning" into their curriculums.  These will help create technology and curriculum savvy learners for the 21st century.

To accomplish this mission we will explore and illuminate the affordances of technology tools and resources in today's "classrooms" in order to recruit additional stakeholders to our movement.  Our group created various materials to spread our vision.  These included: a briefing paper, letters, calls to actions, public service announcements, podcasts, workshops and a presentation to help motivate and activate others to our goal of teaching with industry leaders to ensure students' future success.  For a full exposure to our TEALS wiki advocacy site, please click here.
