The Executive Branch

For starters, the presidents is at the head of the executive branch, which also includes members of his cabinet and different agencies that "protect the public interest by enforcing rules and resolving disputes over federal regulations" (www.britannica.com) . Congress decided the basic organization of the executive branch in April of 1789. They originally decided it would be made up of "the tree administrative departments established under the Articles of Confederation: War, ...State, and Treasury" (A People and A Nation p. 212). These orginal groups developed into the present day set-up of the executive branch. The executive branch possesses many sensitive documents that are handled by the National Archives, who ensure their protection.
