Intern,
March 1999 - present
- As an
intern at the Digilab of the National Museum of American History,
I help to process internal work orders. This involves scanning
photos or negatives, resizing, polishing up, digitizing and
printing them for internal clients. We
use Photoshop 5.0 most of the time to process these jobs.
Lately, I have also begun to help the webmaster on a web design
project.

Associate
Consultant, March - July 1997
- I had
great experiences here. I Organized and coordinated training
seminars and acted as facilitator for training workshops.
- I enjoyed
developing materials with my principal consultant. There were
grave deadlines but my interest kept me going and we were
happy with
our efforts.
- Usually
after a training session, I would analyze
the evaluation data, compile the results and generate reports
for our clients. Client support
was always a priority in our work.

Focus Pocus
(former subsidiary of
Expressly Portraits)
Fairfax, Virginia |
|
Assistant Manager, October - December 1996
- Working
in Focus Pocus was a lot of fun. Apart from assisting the
store manager in all operations; I also helped to promote
sales and trained new photographers. Training included learning
to use both conventional and digital cameras. We had to submit
five different portraits (groups and individuals) to our head
office for approval.
- I learned
to relate with clients and make them
feel at ease (important, if I wanted to get a good picture).
I also picked up skills on picture composition, color balance,
lighting and creative portraiture.

ManuLife Financial
Singapore |
|
Marketing Executive, 1989
- 1992
- What
they did not teach me in school, I learned them in ManuLife.
I wrote business plans to market the company's employee benefits
products. Helped develop promotional literature and managed
client/broker relations. I also prepared the operations manual
for my department.
- My creativity
is at its best when I organized new product launches and marketing
campaigns. I coordinated, scheduled and monitored campaign
activities.
- Training
is an important activity in ManuLife. Every month, I conducted
product training for agents and brokers. I also provided on-the-job
training for agency support secretaries.
