Biography

Linda J. Seligmann is Professor of Anthropology, and Director of Graduate Studies of the Anthropology Program at George Mason University. She received her Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Illinois-Urbana; her M.A.in anthropology and Spanish-American literature from the Institute of Latin American Studies at the University of Texas-Austin; and her B.A. in anthropology from Pomona College. She spent more than 20 years doing field research in Latin America. Her current research is on transnational and transracial adoption and changing assumptions about American families.
