Evaluation:
People often are able to distinguish between a bad website and a good website, even though they may not be able to express why. I was one of these people until reading this week’s assignment. I pretty much knew what had been designed professionally, and who had made their webpage’s after work or on their day off. After doing the reading, the little design principles became more apparent as I was looking through web pages to find examples to post. My ‘good website,’ www.flamuseums.org has many options to choose and a small area for news that does not interfere with the rest of the site. I’m sure there are aspects that could be improved, but overall I thought it was a good design. My ‘bad website,’ www.addictinggames.com is way too busy, with the flashing ads at the top and the large list of links that is the rest of the site. The book showed several examples of better ways to accommodate such large lists without loosing people’s attention.
