Technical Plan:

The key to building this website is to keep it simple and clean. The goal is to transmit the data clearly and simply; if the site becomes too jumbled or visually heavy, users will possibly not enjoy it as much. The site will mostly be organized topically, but with the integration of the timeline, can also be navigated chronically.

The technical side of the site will mostly be upfront, finding, organizing and inputting the data. Once that is done, maintenance is all that will be needed. Using Dreamweaver and Photoshop, the Design Manager will create a fairly simple, yet effective website.

If it is feasible, original documents will be scanned and put on the site as a .jpg image. The documents will also be transcribed by the Production Manager, who will create a searchable index, and a textual version of the document. This way, the user can see the original version and be able to read the message. The site will mostly be flat html, but, depending on how many documents are secured, the documents can be stored in a database.

The Photo Editor will import photos of important people and events, and place them near the relevant material in the exhibit. These photos will also be accessible through the search feature. The Photo Editor will also be responsible for making sure the scanned documents are correct and placed in the proper area of the website.
