This revolution was brought on by the French Republic, which made many of the German workers want to revolt against the German government and the bourgeoisie. This caused much revolt and chaos in Germany, especially because a Prussian king was offered the crown of the German Empire (CHNM). Even though the Prussian king turned the spot down, the people of Germany started to realize that unity would never be established without military force. The Germans truly did want to have a North-American style constitution, but they knew it was close to impossible to get that task accomplished. (ISTG-SS Rugia 1984). Many of the Germans had those jobs in Germany, along with farmers. Many farmers became wealthy in Pennsylvania because there was a lot of land available, courteousy of William Penn. Within the nineteenth century, there was a lot of farming needed in America, and it sometimes even paid good money. If there was one migration group that became successful in the United States, it would be the Germans.
