Date:
March 1, 2004
Summary: Mary, Shuangbao and team members spent this day focusing on technical aspects of transferring training content to T/TAC Online. Several outstanding issues were resolved and Shuangbao confirmed that the rest of the identified issues could be resolved in a timely manner. Mike joined the group at the end of the day to discuss general site issues and to reach closure so that work could proceed to meet April 20 launch date.
Communication Updates :

Templates - Technical
Two-graphic template didn't display entered text. Problem resolved.
Mary's laptop didn't display contents of webshops. Problem resolved.
Will add audio functionality to all templates.
Will add one-graphic template with additional text space.
Need to review all text and prompts.
Need to address user confusion on template selection page.
Video template will support both QuickTime and Flash formats.

Naming Conventions
Mary indicated that the word "course" implies college credit to the primary site user.
Since there is no credit associated with the "mini-courses" these need to be renamed.
Mike suggested "www.workshop" (world wide web workshop)and all agreed this will be the new name for a group of webshops linked together.
Site will have two types of open training: webshops and www.workshops.
Developers can determine whether or not they want the individual components of www.workshops (webshops) published or not.

Enhanced Scope and Sequence SOL Guides
Mary presented the Enhanced Scope and Sequence SOL guides which the T/TACs have created to supplement the VDOE SOL guides. Mike agreed that it is good to pursue adding these to T/TAC Online.
These will require an additional tab, which will be orange.
Label of this tab: "Enhanced SOL".

Category Panel Color
This needs to be consistent throughout the site.
Dark color selected for accessibility factors.

Additional Information
Mary emphasized that the T/TAC staff need guidance in the content and technical aspects of transferring content online.
Many T/TAC Staff still use transparencies for presentations and are just starting to try Power Point.
It is not uncommon for T/TAC staff to be working on Windows 98/dial-up connection systems.
