Forward Mason (not MEMO) E-mail to another E-mail Account.



Note: These instructions are for the OLD mason PINE e-mail system. 
MEMO (new system) e-mail account users have different forwarding directions

First activate your Mason computer account if you have not already done so. 

1. Click on the Windows Start menu. 
2. Then select "RUN."
3. Then in the "window" type: telnet mason.gmu.edu
4. Type in your user name at the login:
5. Type in your password when prompted. (It won't show!!)
6. At the mason.gmu.edu> type: pico .forward  [Leave a space between pico and the period. Note: Pico is a text editor available on Mason.] 
7. Press  ENTER
8. Type the e-mail address where you want to forward your messages. For example:
    username@aol.com [Change "username" to your email name.] 
9. Press ENTER
10.Press CTRL 0 to save the file. 
11. Press ENTER to confirm that you want to save the file under the name .forward. 
12. Press CTRL X to exit Pico. 
13. Log out of mason by typing at the prompt: logout

To remove the forwarding...
1. From the Mason prompt ("osf1.gmu.edu" or "mason2.gmu.edu"), type rm .forward
2. Press ENTER.
3. Type at the prompt: logout 



Forward MEMO E-mail to another E-mail Account.

1. Type http://mail.gmu.edu in the browser location window.
2. Log in to your account by typing in your username and password.
2. Click on Options. 
3. Select Settings. 
4. Scroll down to "Mail Forwarding.'
5. Insert the e-mail address to which you want mail forwarded.
